Sound & Music
Sound and music are a big part of InterFuse. You'll get the chance to hear all kinds of different music and ambient sounds, all day and all night. If you are bothered by constant, multiple sound sources, you should plan to camp in one of the more distant camping areas.
Camp & County Sound Restrictions
Be mindful that we are not immune to noise complaints. If InterRangers ask you to turn down your sound system, please do so immediately.

Small, Campsite Sound Systems
Got a boombox? No problem. Play that funky music. If you are really close to other campsites you should check to see that your volume is reasonable next door.
Large Sound Systems & Music Oriented Theme Camps
Camps intending to use large sound systems (of the giant, professional PA variety) MUST contact the Event Planners to coordinate camp placement by Friday, April 22, 2011. The Events Planners will help coordinate your camp placement so that major sound systems don't interfere with one another. InterFuse Event Planners have final say over sound camp placement and there is no guarantee that you will get to camp in your preferred location. It’s tough to balance everyone’s needs during placement so please bear with us and be cool about the process.
Because of space constraints we can only have four sound camps at InterFuse. The first four sound camps to register will be the four InterFuse 2011 sound camps. This presents a great opportunity to collaborate though. If you are one of the four sound camps this year, it would be very cool for everyone if you are open to include other musical performers and collaborators. You could get a lot of help with your camp this way too!
If you do not coordinate your big sound setup with an Event Planner and show up at the Front Gate with an amplified system in tow, you will not be allowed to use it. You can enter and not use it, or leave without refund.
If you are unsure of whether your sound system falls within this category, save everyone, including yourself, a headache by contacting the Event Planners by Friday, April 22, 2011 to find out.
It is essential that InterFuse have coordinated sound source placement before the event begins.

DJs & Music Performers
InterFuse does not "book" musical acts - no one is paid, no one gets a comp ticket. Everyone coming to InterFuse is a participant, donating their time, equipment and talent for the enjoyment of all.
If you are a DJ or musician and want to do your thing at InterFuse, you have 2 options:
When you participate in the Yahoo Group and at Burner events, keep the following things in mind: we think that relating to one another through commerce and advertising is too impersonal. So, don't promote your music on the Yahoo Group with an e-flyer or art spam. Rather, let everyone know with a personal post, as if you're telling your friends.
Also, there is no flyering or promoting at InterFuse. You’re welcome to talk to people about your events as you meet them but get their e-mail and send them information later. You may give out free CDs of your music with your e-mail address as a gifts though. The emphasis is on making friends, not building a consumer base.

Drums
There will be drummers and drumming groups from several states at InterFuse. Bring your own drum and join in - you don't have to be a pro.
Drumming at The Main Event (Saturday night, 10:00 PM, when we burn The Main Effigy) will be coordinated by The Amazing Ferocious Larry (TAFL). If you would like to drum at The Main Event or have questions about rhythms, please send an email to The Amazing Ferocious Larry.
A Personal Note About Drumming At The Main Event:
Bring the Noise!
We will, of course, groove to some thundering drums at the burn. Drummers are welcome to bring their favorite skins. Those interested in helping with the noise can also join us, as we'll have some other noisemakers available.
So, if you want to get involved, find TAFL on Friday or Saturday to find out what rhythms are planned and how you can add to the thunder.
(On-site learning and practicing sessions are being scheduled. Stay tuned.)
