Fire

Ah, fire. You can't have a Regional Burn without fire. This page should answer all your burning questions about InterFuse.

Fire At The Main Event

The main event at InterFuse (Saturday, 10:00 PM) is the burning of a giant, wooden effigy. It is by far the largest fire at InterFuse and will be one of the largest fires you’ll ever get to enjoy without the gnawing awareness of devastation distracting you.

IMPORTANT STUFF: The time for Saturday's Main Effigy Burn is 10:00 PM. Tell your neighbors!

Fire Art Installations

Fire Art Installations must be registered with InterFuse Event Planners for placement. Event Planners will coordinate with the artists to ensure maximum safety while their Fire Art installations are lit.

Please use the form at the bottom of the Art & Artists page to register your burnable art.

Fire Performance

If you've ever seen a performer spinning fire balls in the dark, moving to a drummer's beat, you’ve felt the primal vibes that we love. There will be plenty of individual and group fire performers at InterFuse, driving in from several states.

You don't need to register to spin your fire at InterFuse, but, if you want to spin your fire at the Main Event's Pre-Burn Ceremony, you should email the Fire Goddess using the link below.

A Personal Note From The InterFuse 2010 Fire Goddess:

If you are a fire performer and would like to participate in the Pre-Burn Ceremony at Interfuse 2010, please send me an email

All fire performers will be required to have a fire watch. Please include their name(s) and email address(es) in your request. Once your request is received, you will be added to the Pre-Burn Ceremony list of performers & our Yahoo Group for access to diagrams and communications about the Pre-Burn Ceremony.

You and your fire watch's name(s) must be on our final performers' list to receive a laminate for entrance to the main circle on Burn night.

I'm looking forward to reconnecting with everyone and having the best Burn yet,

Agni Tara

PS. The Pre-Burn Ceremony Meeting for ALL participants involved in the Pre-Burn Ceremony is Saturday, 3:00 - 4:00 PM at the Main Effigy. Please read the important meeting details on the Events & Performers page.

Campfires

There are multiple fire pits distributed throughout the camping areas.

Fallen, dead wood can easily be found in the surrounding forest, but it's all twigs and brush. You must bring any wood you intend to burn with you to InterFuse.

Tiki Torches

Tiki Torches are allowed at Ozark Avalon. Make sure your tikis are firmly planted in the ground to avoid accidents.

Other Fire Toys

Your other fire toys, such as portable flamethrowers, are very welcome here! Please operate your toys sober and safely. Respect the InterRangers if they approach you with any safety request.
