Gate & Greeters

The InterFuse Gate is a portal into a temporary autonomous zone where commerce is suspended and personal interaction, radical inclusion, and gifting define relationships. The Gate Greeters are your first InterFuse interaction. How do you want to express yourself?

When you arrive at the InterFuse gate, please park your car in the temporary parking area off of the road and go meet the Greeters at the Greeters' Station. The Greeters work hard welcoming you and they appreciate thoughtful gifts like cold drinks. The Greeters are your first InterFuse interaction.

After welcoming you, the Greeters will help you through the registration process. The following sections will tell you how to be prepared for InterFuse registration.

What To Expect At The InterFuse Front Gate

Each person arriving at InterFuse will need to have some form of Government issued identification and a ticket in hand.

A member MUST be present at InterFuse if his or her guests attend this festival. It is the member’s responsibility to host his or her guests.

Sometimes logistics keep groups from arriving together and that is okay. When each person presents his or her ticket and government issued ID at the Front Gate, the Greeters will check this information against our records. The Greeters will use the name on your ID to verify that you are a member of Midwest Burners. When guests arrive before their hosts, the Gate Greeters will use the guests’ ticket numbers to verify that these people have a member hosting them.

Age Restrictions

In Fall 2007, we decided as a community to make InterFuse an adult event while HullabalU is an all ages event. Now no one under 18 may attend InterFuse, even if accompanied by a parent or guardian. We apologize for any disappointments and inconveniences. This decision was painful and took us four years of hard discussion to thrash out.

The Greeters will give folks wristbands to signify those of drinking age and those underage. The different wristbands will help everyone identify people you may legally share alcohol with. Please wear the wristband throughout the event. If your wristband breaks, please come to the Front Gate with your ticket and ID to get another one.

"It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul."
